• World Port Days (Rotterdam)

     

    Each year, in the first weekend of September, the World Port Days take place in Rotterdam. During this weekend everything the city is all about the cities most import source of income, the harbour of Rotterdam. You are invited to take a look behind the screens of the biggest logistic and industrial interchange in Europe. Several activities are organised, under which tours on ships, presentations of harbour companies, exciting demonstrations on the water and remarkable excursions.     Onboard of our historic sailing vessels you can experience the activities of the World Port Days in a special way. From the water the city looks completely different and you will see things you normally would not notice. Furthermore Rotterdam tries her best to look good, with special lights aimed at the buildings and cranes. For the Oosterschelde and Helena we have some special sailing trips. Sail along and see the all the characteristic bridges and buildings from the water.

  • Hanse Sail Rostock

     

    Every year, in the second weekend of August, over 250 traditional sailing vessels and Tall Ships visit Rostock, on the Baltic coast. During this weekend people can visit the ships and sail along. Besides the regattas in front of Warnemünde and the act of sailing or entering port of the ships offer impressive pictures. The other main attraction is the lively folk festival ashore with music performances live on stage.

  • Kieler Woche

    Every year, in the last week of June, more than three million people from 70 countries visit the biggest summer festival in northern Europe. Besides the maritime character of the event, Kiel also offers a unique mix of cultural, musical, political and social activities.

    During the Kieler Woche the Oosterschelde sails with groups and organisation, between a big fleet of international Tall Ships and other boats. Our guests can experience this remarkable event from the water.

  • La Semaine du Golfe (Morbihan)

     

    Since 2001 the Gulf of Morbihan is the stage for the biennial event 'La Semaine du Golfe' (Week of the Gulf), which always takes place at the beginning of June. In 2011 the event will take place from 30 May until 5 June.

    This event is meant to emphasize the Gulf's nautical and cultural features: its harbours and its moorings, its islands and islets, the narrow bottleneck that separates and protects it from the open sea. It is the particular geography and the physical specificities of this exceptional Gulf of Morbihan (tides, currents, eddies) that determine and give rhythm to all the nautical program of the event.

    There are many traditional and classic sailing boats making their appearance, French and European. Besides the nautical spectacle, there are many events and much entertainment for young and old such as exhibitions, music and shows.

  • Spring on the Waterfront (Liverpool)

    'Spring on the Waterfront' will be the Liverpool’s first international boat festival, and is planned to become an annual event. The public will be part of the overall spectacle, enjoy the entertainments and visit a selection of feature boats. A programme of water-based entertainment and demonstrations throughout the show, including wake-boarding, powerboat racing, water-skiing, championship sailing and cultural and family events, will be used to introduce and enthuse a whole new generation of would-be participants to the pleasures of boating.

  • MIPIM (Cannes)

    The MIPIM is the annual real estate event in Cannes, in France. Cannes is the city of seeing and been seen. Excessive luxury and decadent ceremony are very common.

    In the harbour of Cannes the Oosterschelde is a very eye-catching appearance between all the shiny, white yachts. During the day the ship can be used to invite relations for a sailing trip or a reception, at night the ship will be opened for the Dutch visitors of the event.

  • Enjoying the water


    Together with family or business relations enjoying sailing onboard of a sailing monument. Your guests are more than welcome to help with raising the sails, navigating, steering the ship and making special manoeuvres. Of course enjoying the view is also possible.

    While you are sailing or standing on deck our chef prepares delightful snacks. For breakfast, lunch and dinner the possibilities are almost endless en we would like to offer you a barbecue, tapas or snacks. Besides sailing the ships offer room for instance for a wine tasting session or workshop in the stylish salon. Do you like visiting museums or like to end the trip with a theatre show? Would you like to have a party with a band or a DJ? We will be more than happy to arrange this for you.

    Hosting a meeting in the classical salon or catching a breeze on deck of a sailing monument. Meetings do not have to be boring and cheerless. A unique environment can work relaxing and lead to new insights and decisions. And for a change in scenery all you have to do is step on deck and you will find yourself in the historical Veerhaven, the museum harbour Leuvehaven or in the middle of one of the many harbours of Rotterdam.   • Sail Amsterdam


    In 1975 Sail Amsterdam was organised for the first time, during the celebration of the 700-year anniversary of our capitol. Ever since hundreds of Tall Ships and historic sailing, steam and motor vessels assemble every five years in the Amsterdam IJhaven. From 19 until 23 August 2010 you can enjoy the impressive fleet of Sail 2010, but also the elaborate program filled with sport and culture. Every day there are numerous activities on several locations that you can participate in free of charge. There is something for all ages, so even children and youngsters will be entertained. For the first time ever there will be an official Sail Out this year, in which all the participating ships will sail the harbour of Amsterdam together.

    The Oosterschelde will participate directly after the North Sea Tall Ships’ Regatta as part of the exclusive fleet. Also the Helena is especially selected by the organisation of Sail Amsterdam. Onboard of these historic vessels you can participate in the official program, such as the Sail In, Sail Out or one of the other sailing trips. Both ships are available for you and your company during this special event.
